KEY LOGISTICS – The majority of the set up work will occur on weekdays, during daytime hours. There will be some overnight work taking place during the festival weekend as artists arrive and unload their equipment. All trucks coming to the event will be directed to exit off of the Mass Pike onto Soldier’s Field Surface Road, and avoid going through the community. Breakdown takes about 3 days to complete, and the festival site and surrounding areas will be returned to its condition.
TRANSPORTATION – Festival attendees are directed to take Public Transportation and not drive to the Festival. Traffic & Parking Officers in both Boston & Cambridge will be monitoring residential roads. The MBTA is increasing Red Line frequency between 6PM- 2AM for all 3 nights; bus routes #66 & #86 will be on diversion due to N. Harvard St & JFK St. being closed at the end of the evening. RIDE SHARE – There will be a dedicated RIDE SHARE lot at the Harvard Business School on Western Ave in Allston. In Cambridge there will be dedicated RIDE SHARE pick-up/drop-off areas at Mt. Auburn Street between Dunster & Holyoke Streets, and at Garden Street between Mason Street & Appian Way.
ROAD DETOURS – Beginning at 9pm, N. Harvard Street, in Allston, will be closed to allow for maximum attendee departure and pedestrian safety. Cambridge PD plans the following street closures at 9pm as well: JFK from Mass Ave. to the River; Mass Ave. from Garden to JFK/Brattle; Mt. Auburn from Brattle to Dunster; Brattle Street at Mt. Auburn; Church Street from Mass Ave to Palmer Street; Palmer Street; South Street from JFK to Dunster. Additional closures, including Mt. Auburn Street from Hawthorn Street into Harvard Square, may occur at other peak pedestrian times.
